===== Probe Configuration ===== Your **Zebrix Control probe** comes preconfigured to meet most deployment requirements. For a quick setup, follow the Probe Activation Guide. If you prefer to manually configure your probe or access its local interface, follow the instructions below. ==== Connecting to Your Probe ==== To access the probe’s local administration interface: * Connect a **monitor and keyboard** to the probe if necessary. * Log in using the default credentials: ;#; User: config Password: config ;#; You will then see the following interface: ⚠️ For security reasons, remote access over the network is disabled by default. ==== System and Probe State ==== (System, Hardware and Probe State) This section displays the status of: * System services * Hardware resources * Probe registration state ;#; ;#; === Probe status meanings === * **not registered**: Default state. The probe has not yet sent a registration request. * **wait for validation**: The probe has sent a registration request and is awaiting validation. * **registered**: The registration request has been approved. * **rejected**: The registration request has been denied. * **deleted**: The probe has been removed. ==== Probe / Reset ==== This option allows you to **reset the probe’s registration status**. **Warning:** Resetting the probe will remove it from your account. It will no longer be able to monitor your equipment, and you will need to restart the Probe Activation process. ;#; ;#; ==== Network Configuration ==== This section allows you to view, configure, and test the probe’s network settings. By default, the probe is configured in **DHCP mode**. You may switch to a **static IP configuration** if required. === IP Settings === * **IP View** – Displays the current IP configuration and status. * **IP set DHCP** – Enables automatic IP assignment via DHCP. * **IP set Static** – Configures a static IP address (IP, subnet mask, gateway). * **IP set DNS** – Configures DNS servers. 👉 A static IP configuration is recommended when firewall rules require a fixed address. === NTP Settings === * **NTP View** – Displays NTP configuration and status. * **NTP Configure** – Defines NTP servers. * **NTP Timezone** – Configures the timezone. ⚠️ Proper time synchronization is essential for: * Log consistency * Certificate validation * Accurate alert and incident timestamps === Connectivity Tests === * **Test Zebrix** – Verifies connectivity to Zebrix servers. * **Test DNS** – Tests DNS resolution. * **Test Ping** – Tests network connectivity. * **Test Trace route** – Analyzes the network path to a destination. These tools help diagnose firewall, DNS, routing, or internet connectivity issues. ==== Password Change ==== You can change the probe’s local password here. ⚠️ User/password authentication is only available when using a locally connected keyboard. Remote login over the network is disabled for security reasons. ==== Reboot and Power Off ==== These options allow you to: * **Restart** the probe * **Shut down** the probe safely 👉 If the probe fails to register, verify in this order: 1. IP configuration 2. DNS resolution 3. Connectivity to Zebrix servers 4. NTP synchronization ;;# Probe Activation ;;#
