===== Probe Installation =====

Depending on your situation, the probe may have been provided as a pre-configured device called **Zebrix Player**, ready to be installed on your network.  
If not, you will need to install it using a bootable USB drive or a virtual machine.


==== Installation of a Zebrix Player ====

If the probe is provided as a physical device, follow these steps:  
  - Connect it to your network.  
  - Power it on.  
  - Follow the [[en:config:probe:configuration|configuration]] procedure.



==== Installation via a Bootable USB Drive ====

To install the probe using a bootable USB drive, you will need a computer with the following minimum specifications:  
  * **4 GB** of RAM  
  * **AMD64 processor** with at least **2 cores**  
  * **10 GB** of disk space  
  * Connection to **network** and **Internet**

 **Warning**: The hard drive will be formatted, resulting in the loss of all existing data.  
</note>

Installation Steps:

  - Format a USB drive of at least **3 GB** with **FAT32**.  
  - Download the probe image: [[https://control.zebrix.net/download/zebrix_control_probe_usb.zip|Production Probe]]. 
  - For a preproduction probe,  Download the image from : [[https://preprod-control.zebrix.net/download/zebrix_control_probe_usb.zip|Preproduction Probe]]. 
  - Extract the ZIP file to the root of the USB drive.  
  - Boot the computer from the USB drive. **UEFI/EFI Boot**  
  - The installation will start automatically and take approximately **5 minutes**.  
  - Once the installation is complete, reboot.

==== Installation on a Virtual Machine ====

You can also install the probe on your preferred virtualization server.

Minimum Server Requirements :
  * Memory (RAM): Minimum **4 GB** of RAM  
  * Processor (vCPU): Minimum **2 vCPU**
  * **Boot in UEFI/EFI mode**.


Download and import one of the following images:  
  * **OVA Image**: [[https://control.zebrix.net/download/zebrix_control_probe_2.ova|Download]] //Hypervisor VMware Version: Must support **VMX-17** (ESXi 7.0) or higher.//
  * **QCOW2 Image**: [[https://control.zebrix.net/download/zebrix_control_probe_2.qcow2|Download]]

After importing the image, follow the [[fr:config:probe:configuration|configuration]] procedure.
