===== Equipments ===== In Zebrix Control, an **equipment** refers to any device or service accessible from your local network or via a cloud API. This may include, for example: * Professional displays * Video conferencing systems * Microphones * Sensors * Printers * Cloud services exposing an API These equipments can be supervised in different ways by the **probe**: * HTTP / REST APIs * TCP protocols * SNMP * Gateways * Cloud connectors ==== Interaction with equipments ==== The probe communicates with equipments in order to: * Collect **metrics** (technical measurements) * Execute **commands** (reboot, power on/off, etc.) Each equipment is associated with one or more **drivers** that define how this communication is performed. You can: * Select the relevant metrics for your environment * Define the collection frequency * Adjust the supervision level according to equipment criticality ==== Metrics and equipment status ==== The collected metrics allow the system to automatically determine the **equipment status**. These statuses then generate **alerts**, which can be used for: * Real-time monitoring * Incident generation * Reporting * Performance analysis 👉 In summary: metrics feed alerts, and alerts define the health status of your infrastructure. ==== Equipment not supported? ==== If your equipment is not yet supported in Zebrix Control, please contact us to evaluate its integration. ;;# [[en:intro:alerts|Alerts and incidents]] ;;#
