===== Your First Incident ===== In Zebrix Control, an **incident** refers to sending a status change notification through a communication channel. An incident is based on three key components: * **Notification Channel**: Configures the communication method used (e.g., email, SMS, etc.). * **Incident Connector**: Defines when the notification channel will be used (incident opening, closure, or both). * **Incident Configuration**: Specifies the status changes that trigger the incident. In this example, we will configure an email notification to be sent when a probe can no longer reach an equipment. Before starting, make sure to set your equipment back to an OK status (by turning it on or reconnecting its network cable). === Notification Channel === 1. Go to **Configuration / Incidents**, select the **Notification Channels** tab, and click the **+** button. \\ 2. Enter a name for your channel, select **email** as the communication method, and enter your email address. {{ :en:start:pasted:20250128-161643.png?800 }} === Incident Connector === 1. Navigate to the **Connectors** tab and click **+**. 2. Define when the notification channel should be used: on incident opening, closure, or both. 3. The equipment will switch to a **critical** status, and you will receive an email notification informing you of the status change.
