SNMP Printer Driver Configuration
The SNMP Printer driver is a generic driver used to collect status information from a printer via the SNMP protocol through the probe.
It allows monitoring of the printer’s overall status, consumables, and alerts reported by the device.
To configure it, fill in the following parameters:
General Settings
- IP: IP address of the printer
- Port: SNMP port (default 161)
- SNMP Version: SNMP version used (default v2c)
SNMP v1 / v2c Configuration
- Community: SNMP community string configured on the printer
(default public)
SNMP v3 Configuration
If you are using SNMPv3, complete the following fields:
- SNMPv3 Context Name: SNMP context name
- SNMPv3 User Name: SNMPv3 username
- SNMPv3 Auth Protocol: Authentication protocol
('none' | 'md5' | 'sha' | 'sha224' | 'sha256' | 'sha384' | 'sha512')
- SNMPv3 Auth Key: Authentication password
- SNMPv3 Priv Protocol: Encryption protocol
- SNMPv3 Priv Key: Encryption password
- SNMPv3 Security Level: Security level
('noAuthNoPriv' | 'authNoPriv' | 'authPriv')
Best Practices
- Ensure the probe is authorized to query the printer (ACLs, firewall rules).
- Test SNMP connectivity before validating the configuration.
Once properly configured, the printer will be added as a monitored equipment in Zebrix Control.
