Drivers
Drivers allow Zebrix Control to collect metrics and technical information from supervised equipment.
They define how and how often data is retrieved by the probe.
Where to access drivers?
Drivers are accessible from two locations:
From an equipment
- Open the equipment details page
- Go to the Metrics tab
- Click on Configuration
You can then modify the configuration of the driver associated with this equipment.
From Templates
Drivers can also be configured directly in: Configuration > Templates > Drivers tab
Configuring drivers at the template level allows you to:
- apply the configuration to multiple devices at once
- ensure consistency across your fleet
- avoid manual configuration device by device
Driver configuration
Each driver must be configured with the information required to retrieve data.
Depending on the equipment type, this may include:
- A URL
- An IP address
- A login
- A password
- A Device ID
- Other manufacturer-specific parameters
This information allows the probe to connect to the equipment or external service in order to collect metrics.
Metric collection frequency
When configuring a driver, it is possible to define the frequency at which each metric is retrieved.
For example:
- 1 minute
- 5 minutes
- 10 minutes
- 1 hour
- 24 hours
This granularity allows you to adjust:
- network load
- monitoring precision
- the criticality of the collected information
Understanding the "NoData" icon
Some metrics may appear with the NoData icon
.
⚠️ The absence of data is not necessarily a bug.
Several reasons may explain this:
- The equipment is not concerned by this metric
- The related feature is not enabled on the equipment
- The equipment does not provide this information for various reasons (example: device in standby)
- etc.
In other words: “No information” is also information.
Deselecting metrics
If certain metrics are not relevant for your fleet, they can be deselected directly in the driver configuration.
This allows you to:
- avoid displaying unnecessary metrics
- reduce collection load
- improve measurement readability
