Samsung Displays
Zebrix Control allows you to monitor and control your Samsung displays connected to your network via the MDC (Multi Display Control) protocol.
Before configuring the display in Zebrix Control, make sure it is properly set up.
Display Preconfiguration
- Connect the display to the network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi.
- Enable the MDC feature via: Menu > System > Network > MDC Connection.
- Note the display’s IP address.
- Disable Secure Protocol via: Menu > Security > Secure Protocol.
⚠️ Disabling the secure protocol is required to allow communication with the MDC driver.
Configuration in Zebrix Control
In the Samsung driver configuration:
- Enter the display’s IP address or hostname (example: `12.233.43.12` or `screen1.acme.com`).
- Enter the Screen ID if it has been configured on the display (default value: `0`).
Once configured, the probe will be able to retrieve metrics and send commands (power on/off, volume, status, etc.).
Digital Signage Mode Limitations
Some metrics or commands may not be available depending on the screen configuration.
For example: The Standby Control command may not be available when the screen is using the URL Launcher source.
In this case, the absence of a metric response does not indicate a malfunction of the driver or the probe, but simply a limitation related to the screen’s operating mode.
802.1X Support
Zebrix Control supports integrating Samsung displays into a secure 802.1X network.
⚠️ The display must run at least Tizen 7 for 802.1X TLS support to be available.
To register your display on an 802.1X network:
- From Zebrix Control, upload your certificate in `.p12` or `.pfx` format.
- On the display, select 802.1X TLS mode in the security settings.
- Enter the desired identifier (ID).
- Enter the password associated with the `.p12` or `.pfx` file.
After validation, the display will automatically authenticate on the secure network.
