Probe Installation

Depending on your situation, the probe may have been provided as a pre-configured device called Zebrix Player, ready to be installed on your network. If not, you will need to install it using a bootable USB drive or a virtual machine.

Installation of a Zebrix Player

If the probe is provided as a physical device, follow these steps:

  1. Connect it to your network.
  2. Power it on.
  3. Follow the configuration procedure.

Installation via a Bootable USB Drive

To install the probe using a bootable USB drive, you will need a computer with the following minimum specifications:

  • 4 GB of RAM
  • AMD64 processor with at least 2 cores
  • 10 GB of disk space
  • Connection to network and Internet
Warning: The hard drive will be formatted, resulting in the loss of all existing data.

Installation Steps:

  1. Format a USB drive of at least 3 GB with FAT32.
  2. Download the probe image: Production Probe.
  3. For a preproduction probe, Download the image from : Preproduction Probe.
  4. Extract the ZIP file to the root of the USB drive.
  5. Boot the computer from the USB drive. UEFI/EFI Boot
  6. The installation will start automatically and take approximately 5 minutes.
  7. Once the installation is complete, reboot.

You can now follow the configuration procedure.

Installation on a Virtual Machine

You can also install the probe on your preferred virtualization server.

Minimum Server Requirements :

  • Memory (RAM): Minimum 4 GB of RAM
  • Processor (vCPU): Minimum 2 vCPU
  • Boot in UEFI/EFI mode.

Download and import one of the following images:

  • OVA Image: Download Hypervisor VMware Version: Must support VMX-17 (ESXi 7.0) or higher.
  • QCOW2 Image: Download

After importing the image, follow the configuration procedure.
